Stearns Minutemen (Millinocket, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME), 17-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Mattanawcook for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. Stearns will battle a Lynx squad coming off a 10-2 league win over Dexter (Dexter, ME). The Lynx record now stands at 8-0.

With the loss, Piscataquis falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Pirates host Schenck (East Millinocket, ME) to battle the Wolverines in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
