Lakeville South Cougars (Lakeville, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Eagan Wildcats (Eagan, MN), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eastview for a South Suburban Conference challenge on Monday, May 13. Lakeville South will battle a Lightning squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Shakopee (Shakopee, MN). The Lightning record now stands at 9-10.

With the loss, Eagan falls to 6-12 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Prior Lake (Prior Lake, MN) to battle the Lakers in a South Suburban Conference challenge on Monday, May 13. The Lakers enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Prior Lake won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Minnetonka (Minnetonka, MN)
