Wolcott Eagles (Wolcott, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Holy Cross Crusaders (Waterbury, CT), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oxford for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Monday, May 13. Wolcott will battle a Wolverines squad coming off a 6-5 league loss to St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT). The Wolverines record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Holy Cross falls to 13-5 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Wilby (Waterbury, CT) to battle the Wildcats in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Monday, May 13. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-14. Wilby won 11-10 in their recent league challenge against Crosby (Waterbury, CT)
