Shrewsbury Colonials (Shrewsbury, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Leominster Blue Devils (Leominster, MA), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Colonials now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Westborough for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13.

With the loss, Leominster falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Wachusett Regional (Holden, MA) to battle the Mountaineers in a Mid-Wach challenge on Monday, May 13. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 6-1. Wachusett Regional won 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Doherty Memorial (Worcester, MA)
