The Byron Bears baseball team scored 6 runs and held the host Winona Winhawks to 3 in the Bears non-league win on Saturday.

The Bears now hold a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lourdes for a Hiawatha Valley test on Monday, May 12. Byron will play a Eagles team coming off a 6-3 league loss to Pine Island (Pine Island, MN). The Eagles record now stands at 8-7.

With the defeat, Winona drops to 2-12 on the year. The Winhawks host Mankato West (Mankato, MN) to play the Scarlets in a Big 9 test on Tuesday, May 13. The Scarlets go into the test with a record of 11-3. Mankato West won 9-2 in their recent non-league test against New Ulm (New Ulm, MN)
