Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Palatine Pirates (Palatine, IL) and the visiting Hersey Huskies (Arlington Heights, IL), witnessed Palatine's lacrosse squad gain a win over Hersey by a count of 3-1.
The Pirates (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Buffalo Grove (Buffalo Grove, IL). The Bison enter the non-league contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Buffalo Grove Prospect (Mt. Prospect, IL), 4-4, in a league contest.
Next, the Huskies meet the Conant Cougars (Hoffman Estates, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, May 10. Hersey will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record.
Game Summary
Overall, the tournament was a great success for the team with a 500 record. The first two games vs Palatine and Conant were close and fun to watch. Total scores showed how competitive the games were between Palatine and Conant. 3-1 vs Palatine and 4-2 vs Conant. We made some huge adjustments in the 2nd half of the tournament which opened the offense up and allowed for the defense focus on shutting down the opposition's vs Wheeling and Schaumburg. The girl's efforts resulted in a win vs Wheeling 8-2 and a win vs Schaumburg 5-0.
