In Saturday's non-league test, the Triad Knights (Troy, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL), by a tally of 8-2.

Next, the Knights clash with the Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) in a Mississippi Valley test, on Monday, May 12. Triad will attempt to advance on its 16-6 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 12-9 record after their 9-7 non-league loss to Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL).

The Maroons (11-13) will now prepare for their test against Alton (Alton, IL). The Redbirds go into the Southwestern test with a 5-17 record. In their last test, Alton was routed by Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL), 11-0, in a league test.
