The Zane Trace Pioneers triumphed over the host Paint Valley Bearcats softball squad by a count of 6-0 in Saturday's league challenge.

Next, the Pioneers play the Unioto Shermans (Chillicothe, OH) in a Scioto Valley challenge, on Wednesday, May 14. Zane Trace will attempt to upgrade on its 8-15 season record. The Shermans enter the challenge with a 14-9 record after their 5-4 non-league win over Miami Trace (Washington Court House, OH).

The Bearcats (5-17) will now prepare for their challenge against Valley (Lucasville, OH). The Indians enter the non-league challenge with a 9-14 record. In their last challenge, Valley was routed by East Carter (Grayson, KY), 13-2, in a non-league challenge.
