Pennsylvania High School Baseball - Northwest Area holds off Benton

Northwest Area Rangers (Shickshinny, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Benton Tigers (Benton, PA), 7-3 in a league test.

With the win, Northwest Area upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Rangers host Columbia Montour Vo-Tech (Bloomsburg, PA) to battle the Rams in a Mid-Penn D4 test on Friday, May 13. The Rams come into the test with a record of 4-10. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech lost 6-3 in their recent non-league test against Williams Valley (Tower City, PA)

With the defeat, Benton falls to 10-5 on the season. The Tigers host Sullivan County (Laporte, PA) to battle the Griffins in a Mid-Penn D4 test on Thursday, May 12. The Griffins come into the test with a record of 4-9. Sullivan County lost 14-4 in their recent league test against Millville (Millville, PA)
