Waterville Panthers (Waterville, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Belfast Lions (Belfast, ME), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lawrence for a Class B North challenge on Friday, May 13. Waterville will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Erskine Academy (South China, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-4.

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Lawrence Bulldogs (Fairfield, ME) in a Class B North game, on Monday, May 16. Belfast will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the game with a 7-4 record after their 7-1 league win over Waterville (Waterville, ME).
