Carmel Corsairs (Mundelein, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Benet Academy Redwings (Lisle, IL), 13-9 in a league challenge.

The Corsairs now own a 14-11 record. They take the field next when they host Warren Township for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12. Carmel will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Mundelein (Mundelein, IL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 19-6.

With the loss, Benet Academy falls to 13-5 on the campaign. The Redwings travel to Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL) to face the Roadrunners in a East Suburban Catholic challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Roadrunners enter the challenge with a record of 8-14. Nazareth Academy lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Marist (Chicago, IL)
