Carlsbad Lancers (Carlsbad, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting El Camino Wildcats (Oceanside, CA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Costa Canyon for a Coastal North County challenge on Friday, May 13. Carlsbad will battle a Mavericks squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA). The Mavericks record now stands at 12-13.

With the loss, El Camino falls to 14-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA) to battle the Longhorns in a Coastal North County challenge on Friday, May 13. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 15-9. Rancho Buena Vista lost 14-13 in their recent league challenge against Canyon Crest Academy (San Diego, CA)
