The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) and the visiting Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA), saw Dan River's softball squad achieve victory over Gretna by a count of 19-1.

The Wildcats now sport a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they host Altavista for a Dogwood match on Wednesday, May 18. Dan River will face a Colonels squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, Gretna falls to 3-15 on the campaign. The Hawks host Nelson County (Lovingston, VA) to face the Governors in a Dogwood match on Friday, May 13. The Governors enter the match with a record of 7-6. Nelson County lost 13-0 in their recent league match against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA)
