Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Housatonic-Wamogo Mountaineers (Falls Village, CT), 16-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Northwestern Regional improves its record to 11-2 on the year. The Highlanders travel to Somers (Somers, CT) to clash with the Spartans in a non-league game on Thursday, May 12. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 13-4. Somers won 20-4 in their recent league game against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (Hartford, CT)

In their next game, the Mountaineers clash with the Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, May 18. Housatonic-Wamogo will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record.
