Sycamore Spartans (Sycamore, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Plano Reapers (Plano, IL), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 14-12 record. They take the field next when they host Dixon for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12.

With the loss, Plano falls to 1-25 on the campaign. The Reapers host Seneca (Seneca, IL) to play the Fighting Irish in a Tri-County contest on Thursday, May 12. The Fighting Irish come into the contest with a record of 20-6. Seneca won 6-5 in their recent league contest against Woodland (Streator, IL)
