The Coventry Oakers volleyball team (Coventry, RI), was edged 2-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Classical Purples (Providence, RI)

The Purples (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Avengers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, East Greenwich was edged by Cranston East (Cranston, RI), 2-1, in a non-league bout.

The Oakers now own a 4-9 record. They play next when they host La Salle Academy for a non-league bout on Monday, May 15. Coventry will play a Rams squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI). The Rams record now stands at 10-3.
