Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT), 21-13 in a league challenge.
The Highlanders now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Torrington for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 15. Northwestern Regional will face a Raiders squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT). The Raiders record now stands at 6-10.
With the loss, Thomaston falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Bears host Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT) to face the Mountaineers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 15. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 3-4.
