Varsity Opponent (, ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Bronx Community Spartans (Bronx, NY), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The now own a 22-49 record. They take the field next when they host Evangel Christian for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. Varsity Opponent will face a Lightning squad coming off a 15-3 non-league win over North River Christian (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Lightning record now stands at 25-5.

With the loss, South Bronx Community falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Inwood Academy (New York, NY) to face the Trailblazers in a challenge on Tuesday, May 16. The Trailblazers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
