The Boyd County Lions baseball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Covington Catholic Colonels to 1 in the Lions non-league victory on Saturday.
The Lions (23-2) will now prepare for their match against Rowan County (Morehead, KY). The Vikings go into the non-league match with a 24-6 record. In their last match, Rowan County was overwhelmed by Boone County (Florence, KY), 5-4, in a non-league match.
The Colonels (27-2) will now prepare for their match against Walton-Verona (Walton, KY). The Bearcats go into the non-league match with a 18-8 record. In their last match, Walton-Verona edged Cooper (Union, KY), 3-1, in a non-league match.
