Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL), 9-1 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 18-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richland County for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 15.

With the loss, Taylorville falls to 5-19 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a Apollo challenge on Tuesday, May 14. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 5-21. Mahomet-Seymour lost 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Danville (Danville, IL)
