Western Boone Stars (Thorntown, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lawrence North Wildcats (Indianapolis, IN), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Stars now sport a 16-6 record. They take the field next when they host Southmont for a Sagamore challenge on Monday, May 13. Western Boone will face a Mounties squad coming off a 11-9 league loss to Lebanon (Lebanon, IN). The Mounties record now stands at 7-12.

With the loss, Lawrence North falls to 12-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Indianapolis Lutheran (Indianapolis, IN) to face the Saints in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13. The Saints enter the challenge with a record of 12-8. Indianapolis Lutheran won 10-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory (Indianapolis, IN)
