The Monterey Plainsmen softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Lubbock-Cooper Pirates to 6 in the Plainsmen non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Monterey improves its record to 24-11 on the year. The Plainsmen travel to Aledo (Aledo, TX) to clash with the Bearcats in a non-league game on Saturday, May 18. The Bearcats come into the game with a record of 31-3. Aledo won 2-1 in their recent non-league game against Joshua (Joshua, TX)
