Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV), 24-13 in a league challenge.
The Patriots now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they host Woodrow Wilson for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 13.
With the loss, PikeView falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Independence (Coal City, WV) to face the Patriots in a Coalfield AA challenge on Wednesday, May 26. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 11-8.
