Voorheesville Blackbirds (Voorheesville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Catholic Central Crusaders (Troy, NY), 11-5 in a league challenge.

The Blackbirds now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cobleskill-Richmondville for a Section 2 Colonial challenge on Friday, May 13. Voorheesville will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 10-5 league win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, Catholic Central falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Cohoes (Cohoes, NY) to battle the Tigers in a Section 2 Colonial game on Friday, May 13. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 10-7. Cohoes lost 8-7 in their recent league game against Voorheesville (Voorheesville, NY)
