The Malden Golden Tornados (Malden, MA) softball routed the visiting Somerville Highlanders (Somerville, MA), 9-3 in Thursday's league bout.

The Golden Tornados (7-6) will now prepare for their bout against Whittier RVT (Haverhill, MA). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 6-1 record.

The Highlanders now possess a 4-10 record. They play next when they host Wakefield Memorial for a non-league bout on Friday, May 13. Somerville will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 19-0 league win over Stoneham (Stoneham, MA). The Warriors record now stands at 12-3.
