Wilmington Greyhounds (New Wilmington, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mercer Mustangs (Mercer, PA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Reynolds for a District 10 Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, May 17. Wilmington will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Villa Maria Academy (Erie, PA). The Raiders record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Mercer falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Grove City (Grove City, PA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 17. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. Grove City lost 10-1 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Franklin, PA)
