The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces got by the visiting Pinckneyville Panthers softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Thursday's non-league battle.
The Golden Aces (20-0) will now prepare for their battle against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IN). The Wildcats go into the non-league battle with a 11-11 record. In their last battle, Mt. Vernon was edged by Evansville North (Evansville, IN), 3-2, in a non-league battle.
The Panthers now sport a 15-13 record. They play next when they host Casey-Westfield for a non-league battle on Saturday, May 14. Pinckneyville will encounter a Warriors team coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Arcola (Arcola, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 31-1.
