St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Princeton Tigers (Princeton, IL), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 15-3 record.

With the loss, Princeton falls to 15-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL) to battle the Comets in a Three Rivers challenge on Friday, May 13. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 12-7. Newman Central Catholic won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Amboy (Amboy, IL)
