Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Putnam Clippers (Putnam, CT), 15-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Bernard for a Eastern Connecticut - Small challenge on Saturday, May 14. Wheeler will battle a Saints squad coming off a 10-5 non-league loss to Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, CT). The Saints record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, Putnam falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Clippers host Windham (Willimantic, CT) to battle the Whippets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 17. The Whippets enter the challenge with a record of 8-7. Windham lost 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Plainfield (Central Village, CT)
