The Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) softball nipped the host Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX), 2-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Plainsmen (33-6) will now prepare for their bout against Amarillo (Amarillo, TX). The Sandies go into the non-league bout with a 34-3 record. In their last bout, Amarillo held off Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 2-1, in a non-league bout.
