In Friday's non-league contest, the Battle Mountain Longhorns (Battle Mountain, NV) softball team held off the visiting Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV), by a margin of 6-5.

With the triumph, Battle Mountain moves its record to 16-5 on the year.

In their next game, the Mustangs play the West Wendover Wolverines (West Wendover, NV) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, May 13. Pershing County will attempt to move on its 25-3 season record. The Wolverines come into the contest with a 11-15 record after their 19-4 non-league win over Yerington (Yerington, NV).
