Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA), 7-5 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 15-2 record. They take the field next when they host Tazewell for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 15. Carroll County will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Graham (Bluefield, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, Floyd County falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Alleghany (Covington, VA) to battle the Mountaineers in a Three Rivers challenge on Monday, May 15. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Alleghany lost 8-1 in their recent league challenge against James River (Buchanan, VA)
