Maury Commodores (Norfolk, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Churchland Truckers (Portsmouth, VA), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Commodores now own a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they host Norview for a Eastern challenge on Tuesday, May 16. Maury will battle a Pilots squad coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Woodside (Newport News, VA). The Pilots record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Churchland falls to 7-13 on the campaign. The Truckers travel to Manor (Portsmouth, VA) to battle the Mustangs in a Eastern challenge on Tuesday, May 16. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Manor lost 7-0 in their recent league challenge against Granby (Norfolk, VA)
