The Gouverneur Wildcats softball team scored 23 runs and limited the host Salmon River Shamrocks to 5 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Gouverneur improves its record to 8-3 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Ogdensburg Free Academy (Ogdensburg, NY) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Section 10 Central game on Monday, May 15. The Blue Devils come into the game with a record of 4-8. Ogdensburg Free Academy lost 13-2 in their recent league game against St. Lawrence Central (Brasher Falls, NY)

In their next game, the Shamrocks clash with the Canton Golden Bears (Canton, NY) in a Section 10 Central game, on Tuesday, May 16. Salmon River will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Golden Bears come into the game with a 13-1 record after their 19-2 non-league win over Heuvelton Central (Heuvelton, NY).
