Westfield Wolverines (Westfield, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Maple Grove Red Dragons (Bemus Point, NY), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Wolverines now own a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they host Sherman/Clymer Central for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus II West challenge on Monday, May 15. Westfield will face a Wolves squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Westfield (Westfield, NY). The Wolves record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Maple Grove falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Red dragons host Frewsburg (Frewsburg, NY) to face the Bears in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus II West challenge on Monday, May 15. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. Frewsburg lost 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Chautauqua Lake (Mayville, NY)
