The Stearns Minutemen got by the visiting Bangor Christian Patriots softball squad by a count of 15-14 in Monday's league challenge.
Next, the Minutemen meet the Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME) in a Class D North challenge, on Wednesday, May 14. Stearns will attempt to upgrade on its 7-1 season record. The Pirates go into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 18-9 league loss to Stearns (Millinocket, ME).
The Patriots (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Deer Isle-Stonington (Deer Isle, ME). The Mariners go into the Class D North challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Deer Isle-Stonington was nudged by Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME), 19-0, in a league challenge.
