In Monday's non-league match, the host Chequamegon Screaming Eagles softball team scored a tight 8-2 victory over the Hurley Northstars.

The Screaming Eagles (8-9) will now prepare for their match against Rib Lake (Rib Lake, WI). The Redmen go into the Marawood - North match with a 7-3 record. In their last match, Rib Lake tipped Newman (Wausau, WI), 12-11, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Northstars battle the Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) in a Northern Lights match, on Friday, May 16. Hurley will attempt to better on its 8-6 season record. The Granite Diggers go into the match with a 8-6 record after their 14-1 league win over Drummond (Drummond, WI).
