The Thomaston Bears triumphed over the host Gilbert-Northwestern Regional Yellowjackets softball squad by a count of 18-3 in Monday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Bears play the Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Tuesday, May 13. Thomaston will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 8-1 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT).
The Yellowjackets (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Terryville (Terryville, CT). The Kangaroos enter the non-league challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, Terryville was routed by Thomaston (Thomaston, CT), 19-0, in a league challenge.
