In Monday's league test, the Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT) softball squad overwhelmed the host Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT), by a tally of 18-3.
Next, the Bears meet the Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) in a Berkshire test, on Tuesday, May 13. Thomaston will attempt to advance on its 8-4 season record. The Spartans go into the test with a 6-9 record after their 8-1 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT).
The Yellowjackets (0-5) will now prepare for their test against Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT). The Spartans go into the Berkshire test with a 6-9 record. In their last test, Shepaug Valley was routed by Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT), 8-1, in a league test.
