In Monday's league match, the host Naugatuck Greyhounds softball team scored a tight 5-2 win over the Holy Cross Crusaders.
The Greyhounds (10-8) will now prepare for their match against Oxford (Oxford, CT). The Wolverines come into the Naugatuck Valley - Brass match with a 10-2 record. In their last match, Oxford was routed by Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT), 13-0, in a league match.
In their next game, the Crusaders battle the Torrington Raiders (Torrington, CT) in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass match, on Tuesday, May 13. Holy Cross will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Raiders come into the match with a 5-8 record after their 4-0 league loss to Wolcott (Wolcott, CT).
