The Sycamore Spartans got by the visiting Ottawa Pirates softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Monday's league challenge.
Next, the Spartans meet the Morris Redskins (Morris, IL) in a Interstate Eight challenge, on Wednesday, May 14. Sycamore will attempt to upgrade on its 24-4 season record. The Redskins go into the challenge with a 19-9 record after their 9-6 league loss to Kaneland (Maple Park, IL).
The Pirates (14-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Rochelle (Rochelle, IL). The Hubs go into the Interstate Eight challenge with a 7-18 record. In their last challenge, Rochelle held off Forreston (Forreston, IL), 8-7, in a non-league challenge.
