In Thursday's league contest, the Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD), by a margin of 10-0.

With the triumph, Bishop Walsh moves its record to 13-2 on the year. The Spartans travel to Hyndman Charter School (Hyndman, PA) to play the Hornets in a non-league contest on Monday, May 17. The Hornets come into the contest with a record of 0-7. Hyndman Charter School lost 15-5 in their recent non-league contest against Forbes Road (Waterfall, PA)

In their next game, the Miners play the Allegany Campers (Cumberland, MD) in a Western Maryland contest, on Monday, May 17. Mountain Ridge will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Campers come into the contest with a 2-0 record after their 3-2 league win over Keyser (Keyser, WV).
