In Friday's non-league game, the host Verona Wildcats baseball team scored a tight 14-7 victory over the DeForest Norskies.
The Wildcats (10-9) will now prepare for their game against Beloit Memorial (Beloit, WI). The Purple Knights go into the Big Eight game with a 2-6 record.
The Norskies (8-8) will now prepare for their game against Tomah (Tomah, WI). The Timberwolves go into the non-league game with a 5-7 record. In their last game, Tomah was overwhelmed by La Crosse Logan (La Crosse, WI), 9-7, in a league game.
