Ohio High School Baseball - Mentor nips South

Mentor Cardinals (Mentor, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host South Rebels (Willoughby, OH), 7-6 in a non-league test.

With the win, Mentor upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (Chardon, OH) to battle the Lions in a non-league test on Saturday, May 14. The Lions come into the test with a record of 8-9. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin lost 2-1 in their recent league test against Lake Catholic (Mentor, OH)

With the defeat, South falls to 8-12 on the season. The Rebels travel to Chardon (Chardon, OH) to battle the Hilltoppers in a Western Reserve test on Saturday, May 14. The Hilltoppers come into the test with a record of 15-8. Chardon won 11-1 in their recent league test against Madison (Madison, OH)
