Spectators at Friday's league match between the Downingtown West Whippets (Downingtown, PA) and the host Bishop Shanahan Eagles (Downingtown, PA), witnessed Downingtown West's softball squad tip Bishop Shanahan by a count of 8-1.

The Whippets now sport a 18-1 record. They play next when they travel to Downingtown East for a Ches-Mont match on Monday, May 16. Downingtown West will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 5-0 league win over Avon Grove (West Grove, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Bishop Shanahan moves to 4-10 on the season. The Eagles travel to Henderson (West Chester, PA) to meet the Warriors in a Ches-Mont match on Monday, May 16. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 4-13. Henderson lost 16-1 in their recent league match against Coatesville (Coatesville, PA)
