Greater New Bedford RVT Bears (New Bedford, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders (Somerset, MA), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 18-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Old Rochester Regional for a South Coast challenge on Monday, May 16. Greater New Bedford RVT will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Dighton-Rehoboth Regional (North Dighton, MA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, Somerset Berkley Regional falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Raiders host Apponequet Regional (Lakeville, MA) to battle the Lakers in a South Coast challenge on Monday, May 16. The Lakers enter the challenge with a record of 8-8. Apponequet Regional won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Fairhaven (Fairhaven, MA)
