Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 5-15 record. They take the field next when they host MacArthur for a Central State Eight challenge on Saturday, May 14. Lanphier will face a Generals squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to St. Teresa (Decatur, IL). The Generals record now stands at 5-24.

With the loss, Springfield Southeast falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to MacArthur (Decatur, IL) to face the Generals in a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, May 17. The Generals enter the challenge with a record of 6-25. MacArthur lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Lincoln (Lincoln, IL)
