Spectators at Monday's league match between the Cooperstown Hawkeyes (Cooperstown, NY) and the visiting West Canada Valley Indians (Newport, NY), witnessed Cooperstown's softball squad tip West Canada Valley by a count of 5-4.

The Hawkeyes now sport a 12-5 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. Markham for a Section 3 Center State II match on Wednesday, May 15. Cooperstown will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 8-5 league win over Sauquoit Valley (Sauquoit, NY). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, West Canada Valley moves to 9-3 on the season. The Indians host Frankfort-Schuyler (Frankfort, NY) to face the Maroon Knights in a Section 3 Center State II match on Thursday, May 16. The Maroon Knights go into the match with a record of 5-13. Frankfort-Schuyler won 17-10 in their recent league match against Sauquoit Valley (Sauquoit, NY)
