Corvallis Spartans (Corvallis, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South Albany Redhawks (Albany, OR), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crescent Valley for a 5A Mid-Willamette challenge on Wednesday, May 15. Corvallis will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to West Albany (Albany, OR). The Raiders record now stands at 5-19.

With the loss, South Albany moves to 7-16 on the season. The Redhawks host Lebanon (Lebanon, OR) to meet the Warriors in a 5A Mid-Willamette match on Wednesday, May 15. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 20-6. Lebanon won 26-6 in their recent league match against Woodburn (Woodburn, OR)
