Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Salem Lions (Salem, IN) and the host Mitchell Bluejackets (Mitchell, IN), witnessed Salem's softball squad tip Mitchell by a count of 4-2.

The Lions now sport a 6-12 record. They play next when they host Charlestown for a Mid-Southern match on Tuesday, May 14. Salem will face a Pirates squad coming off a 14-5 non-league loss to Jennings County (North Vernon, IN). The Pirates record now stands at 20-3.

With the loss, Mitchell moves to 7-14 on the season. The Bluejackets travel to New Albany (New Albany, IN) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 14. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 10-12. New Albany won 5-1 in their recent non-league match against Orleans (Orleans, IN)
